Got it working now...

I got the comment ability to finally work on my page.  Didn't realize what was wrong with it until about just now.  It works! Maybe its a little different than what you have setup on your pages seeing as how it opens a popup window.  Just wanted to say I got it working.

Labor Day Weekend

Over my Labor Day weekend, I spent a lot of time with my family.  Usually we don’t do a whole lot together but we got together for a family meal to celebrate my twenty-first birthday.  Seeing as how many of my family members enjoy my stepdad’s cooking, he was the obvious choice for his great homemade lasagna.  We accompanied the lasagna with my grandmothers “Crazy Cake”, which is a cake made without eggs or something of the like.  After we finished eating for the evening, we sat together in the living room and watched “Private Eyes” with Don Knotts and Tim Conway.  A nice family favorite.  Between great food and laughs it was a wonderful family filled day.  I’m sure to remember this rite of passage for the rest of my life.

Wretches and Kings....

Over this labor day weekend I was browsing Facebook.
I came across one of my friends links and it was rather exciting.  Like myself, many of my friends, even the ones with whom I don't talk much, are music fans.
My friend Elias had a link on one of his posts to a link to a new announced preview site of the new Linkin Park song "Wretches and Kings" to say the least, the song is AWESOME!

For any of you music fans out there I will be posting the link and giving you the opportunity to hear it as well if you have not yet listened to it.

I've been a fan of Linkin Park for quite a while and hearing this new electronic sounding cd is kind of a different and unexpected experience from having listened to past releases by them.

El Bloggo Numero Uno

This is my introductory blog.   Not exactly sure what to cover here so I guess I will just tell a little about myself...

I am a student at WTC in La Crosse and am enrolled in the Foodservice and Culinary Management program.  I enjoy my classes quite well and have found that it just gets more and more interesting as you progress.  Yes there are many things that may be detestable about it but thats why they call college another form of school.  It wouldn't be school without the work.  I find that I've learned to like even the weird instructors that can be really hard to understand and follow because I've found that they give me a challenge.

Other than the fact that I'm currently a student, I enjoy pretty much all the same things that a regular soon to be twenty-one year old guy would enjoy.  I like sports, music, video games and the usual thing any guy would say. Girls.

I like music a lot.  I think music is probably one of my favorite things.  I find interest in music because I enjoy a lot of different varieties.  People occasionally think I'm odd because I can be listening to Dave Matthews one minute and switch to heavy deafening metal the next.  The kind that would sound a little too hard to your average Joe.  I find that music is very enjoyable to me.
My favorite band would have to be a metal group called Norma Jean.  They're probably my favorite just because they have a really exciting sound.  I like they're music because they're hard and each album they have put out thus far has sounded in some way unique from all the others.

So I enjoy hard rock and metal but also love a lot of other musical styles.  I really like the artist M.I.A. for her stylish sounds and catchy songs.  She's probably one of the most creative artists I listen to.  I think my enjoyment for music is in large part due to the fact that I was always around it when I was growing up.  I would often spend time with different family members all the time and I know for certain that my thanks go out to my uncle for my love of rock and metal sounds.
The enjoyment of other styles probably goes to friends and family that were with me at different stages of my life as I know it so far.

I like to do many things though.  So many in fact, that like most people, I'm going to tell you that they can't all be mentioned here.

I thoroughly enjoy life in just about every way imaginable.  Life is our gift and all too often people abuse that gift but in the end I hope each and every one of you loves your life because its just too damn short to have any hatred towards life.

Leaving with a quote just because this is my first blog and I thought it would be interesting to do so.
